    "body": "<p>Eight British Columbia youth teams won their respective BCSPL Championships across four different age categories on Saturday 6 June in Coquitlam. The eight Saturday Finals marked the culmination to a successful 2025-26 season across the province&rsquo;s player-development program leagues.</p><p>Both the winners and runners up in the U-17 and U-15 age categories had already qualified for Canada Soccer&rsquo;s 2026 PDP Championship when they won their respective Semifinals one week earlier. Those eight youth teams will participate in the PDP U-17 Cup and PDP U-15 Cup from 26-30 August in Montr&eacute;al, Qu&eacute;bec.</p><p>In the U-17 age category, Fusion FC won the Boys&rsquo; U-17 division with a 4:3 victory over Burnaby FC while Surrey United SC won the Girls&rsquo; U-17 division after a 6-5 penalty shootout over Burnaby FC. In the U-15 age category, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC won the Boys&rsquo; U-15 division with a 3:0 victory over Surrey United SC while North Vancouver FC won the Girls&rsquo; U-15 division with a 4:1 victory over Langley United SA.</p><p>In the U-16 age category, Surrey United SC won the Boys&rsquo; U-16 division with a 1:0 victory over Burnaby FC while Surrey United SC won the Girls&rsquo; U-16 division with a 1:0 victory over Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC. In the U-14 age category, Langley United SA won the Boys&rsquo; U-14 division after a 4-1 penalty shootout over Port Moody SC while Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC won the Girls&rsquo; U-14 division with a 3:1 victory over Pacific FC.</p><p>Now in its third year, the PDP Championship features 248 youth teams competing in the four divisions across four standards-based leagues: the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL), the Alberta Player Development League (APDL), the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), and the Qu&eacute;bec Premier Youth League (PLSJQ).</p><p>Canada Soccer&rsquo;s Player-Development Program features a network of standards-based programs that represent high-level amateur youth soccer in Canada. Participating organisations, both clubs and academies, all meet the requirements for standards-based programming including recognition as an active National Youth Club Licensee.</p><p>Across the first four years of the competition, Canada Soccer will host the PDP Championship alongside the four provincial member associations in which Canada&rsquo;s standards-based youth leagues are played: Alberta in 2024, Ontario in 2025, Qu&eacute;bec in 2026, and British Columbia in 2027.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
