Youth teams win 2025 BC Premier Cup

British Columbia youth teams were crowned 2025 Premier Cup winners on the road to Canada Soccer's 2025 Player-Development Program Championship. In all, eight youth teams were crowned winners on Saturday 21 June in boys' and girls' divisions from U-14 to U-17, with both the U-15 and U-17 age categories leading towards berths in the national competition.

Van Isle Wave, already qualified as BCSPL Regular Season winners, won the Boys' U-17 Premier Cup with a 1:0 victory over Burnaby FC. Fusion FC from Richmond were the Girls' U-17 Premier Cup winners after a 3:0 win over Surrey United SC.

Fusion FC also won the Boys' U-16 Premier Cup after a 3:0 win over Surrey United SC while Langley United won the Girls' U-16 Premier Cup after they won 7-6 on kicks following a 2:2 draw with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC.

Coastal FC from South Surrey won the Boys' U-15 Premier Cup after a 3:1 win over Fusion FC while North Vancouver FC won the Girls' U-15 Premier Cup after they won 3-1 on kicks following a 1:1 draw with Van U FC.

Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC won the Boys' U-14 Premier Cup after a 2:0 win over Port Moody SC while Fusion FC won the Girls' U-14 Premier Cup after a 2:0 win over Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC.

As part of Canada Soccer’s Youth Competitions Network, the PDP Championship features four divisions across the PDP U-17 Cup and PDP U-15 Cup (boys and girls in each age category). With eight teams in each division, the PDP Championship will feature group matches from Wednesday 27 August through Saturday 30 August followed by medal and ranking matches for all 32 teams on Sunday 31 August.

Launched in 2024, new Canada Soccer Player-Development Program Championship strengthens the connection between standards-based programs and showcases their quality of play. The 2025 competition will feature clubs from the BC Soccer Premier League, the Alberta Player Development League, the Ontario Player Development League, and the Québec Youth Soccer Premier League (Première Ligue de Soccer Juvénile du Québec).

Canada Soccer’s Player-Development Program features a network of standards-based programs that represent high-level amateur youth soccer in Canada. Participating organisations, both clubs and academies, all meet the requirements for standards-based programming including recognition as an active National Youth Club Licensee.
