Ottawa, Ontario – Canada’s Women’s World Cup Team will leave for France on Thursday, May 28 where they will take part in an international tournament from April 3-9. Canadian head coach Even Pellerud has selected 18 players for the tournament, which is part of his ongoing preparations for qualifying for the 2003 Women’s World Cup, being held in China.

\u200bCONCACAF qualifying for the 2003 Women’s World Cup will coincide with the Women’s Gold Cup, which will be held in late October and early November. The two finalists will be guaranteed berths in the World Cup with the third-place finisher playing a playoff against a team from Asia for a place in the tournament.
