Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced its Women’s National Team will play against England’s National Women’s Team on Thursday, May 22nd at Frank Clair Stadium in Ottawa at 7:00 PM as part of its preparation program for the 2003 Women’s World Cup in China.

England, one of the top ranked countries in the world, was narrowly eliminated by France 1-0 for the fifth and final spot in European qualifying play last November.

“I am delighted to bring our full Senior Women’s Team to Ottawa for what should be a much exciting game on May 22nd,” said Head Coach Even Pellerud. “Our preparation program continues to evolve in a most positive way and we look forward with great anticipation.”

Tickets for this match will go on sale via Ticketmaster next week when all details will be announced at that time.

Ottawa’s Frank Clair Stadium is a 30,000 seat facility featuring a FieldTurf playing surface. The pitch has received “FIFA recommended” status and is therefore eligible to be used for international play at any level.

There will be another game against England on Victoria Day Monday, May 19th at 2:00 PM at a location in Southern Ontario to be announced next week.
