With extended, behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen interviews, Canada Soccer has launched the Canada Soccer Women’s National Team #WeCAN Documentary Series, presented by CIBC, following the team on the journey to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™. The Documentary Series will run across the four weeks leading-up to Canada’s opening match at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup ™, with an episode being released weekly.

The #WeCAN Documentary Series provides unique insight into the inner workings of Canada Soccer’s National Teams on the road to the biggest tournaments in the world of sports. Produced by Canada Soccer, the series is spoken in the ‘athlete’s voice,’ thus providing an opportunity for the players and staff of the National Teams to tell their story in their own words.

Episode 3 of the series, “The Climb”, sees #CANWNT arrive in Australia for a pair of matches against the hosts Australia with less than a year remaining until the FIFA Women’s World Cup™. We then join the journey to Brazil for another win with one of the team’s attacking stars sidelined for months due to injury. The team’s longstanding commitment to advocating for equity comes to the fore at the SheBelieves Cup in the USA and we check-in with #CANWNT legend Diana Matheson who is now leading the development of a professional women’s league in Canada.

To follow Canada Soccer’s journey at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, fans are encouraged to visit the CanadaSoccer.com digital hub for the competition.
