    "body": "<p>Canada Soccer&rsquo;s 2023 Canadian Championship winners will be crowned on Wednesday night when Vancouver Whitecaps FC host visiting CF Montr&eacute;al at BC Place in the nation&rsquo;s annual Battle of the North. Two-time winners Vancouver Whitecaps FC are the defending champions from 2022 while five-time winners CF Montr&eacute;al were national champions just a year earlier in 2021.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bTickets for the 2023 Canadian Championship final are currently&nbsp;on sale now at<a href=\"https://whitecapsfc.tbits.me/trk/canchamp23csa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">whitecapsfc.com/tickets</a>. Tickets are included for all Whitecaps FC season ticket members.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bWinners of the Canadian Championship lift the Voyageurs Cup and qualify for Concacaf Champions League, the continental championship that qualifies the region&rsquo;s top club to the FIFA Club World Cup.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bThe 2023 Canadian Championship Final will kick off at 19.00 local with a live broadcast on OneSoccer at 22.00 ET / 19.00 PT. OneSoccer is available as a linear channel on Telus&rsquo; Optik TV (Channel 980), on the FuboTV Canada platform, as well as online at OneSoccer.ca, and through the OneSoccer app. Fans in the United States can find the match broadcast on Fox Sports 2. Extended coverage for the Final will be published across Canada Soccer&rsquo;s digital channels from CanadaSoccer.com to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube featuring the hashtag #CanChamp.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bIn this year&rsquo;s Canadian Championship, Whitecaps FC have gone away to beat York United FC and Pacific FC in back-to-back rounds after receiving a bye from the preliminary round as the defending champions. CF Montr&eacute;al, meanwhile, have been at home to beat Vaughan SC, gone away to beat Toronto FC, and come back home to beat Forge FC Hamilton.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bSo far this year in the MLS standings after 16 matches, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are in sixth place in the Western Conference with 21 points while CF Montr&eacute;al are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 19 points from 16 matches. Vancouver is coming off a 1:1 draw with Sporting KC while Montr&eacute;al are coming off a 3:0 away loss to the Philadelphia Union. Earlier this year, Vancouver won 5:0 over CF Montr&eacute;al in an April league match&nbsp;at&nbsp;BC&nbsp;Place.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bAs both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and CF Montr&eacute;al are original participants in the Canadian Championship from 2008, they have faced each other 16 times in the competition, most notably 2013 when Montr&eacute;al lifted the Voyageurs Cup at BC Place and then 2015 when Vancouver won their first title also at BC Place. The two sides have not met each other in this competition since 2018 when Vancouver took a slight edge in the all-time head-to-head record with six wins against Montr&eacute;al&rsquo;s five wins.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bAll time at BC Place in both MLS and Canadian Championship matches, Vancouver holds a decisive edge with seven wins, two draws and two losses since 2013.<br>\u200b<br>\u200bThis year marks the 16th edition of Canada Soccer&rsquo;s Canadian Championship, the nation&rsquo;s highest club competition.
