Update: Canada Soccer Men’s National Team Head Coach search

#CANMNT

Hello Canada Soccer Community,

I’m writing to provide you with an update about the CANMNT head coach search.

As you know, Mauro Biello has been serving in an interim capacity since the departure of John Herdman, and he will coach our team in the upcoming one-match play-in series against Trinidad and Tobago, on March 23, for qualification into the 2024 Copa America.

Mauro and I have spoken several times in the past few days. We discussed that I will be continuing our search for a permanent head coach. Mauro remains a candidate for the position.

This is a major priority for our organization, and I will immediately continue the work that our team has already started.

To do this, I will be relying on a variety of perspectives from soccer experts within and around our sport — including players, alumni, administrators and other expert stakeholders — for their consultation throughout this process.

Coaching searches of this nature are confidential, and you should be skeptical about the accuracy of any rumours or reports unless you hear directly from me. I will do my best to keep you all updated on the status of our progress within these confidentiality constraints.

Thank you for your continued support of our Canada Soccer Men’s National Team.

Best,

Kevin
