    "body": "<p><strong>THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 2 May 1993<br>\u200b</strong>Canada wins 2:1 over El Salvador in an away FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match at Estadio Cuscatl&aacute;n in San Salvador. It marks Canada&rsquo;s first away win in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in nearly 12 years (five draws and three losses in between away victories on 25 August 1985 and 2 May 1993). Domenic Mobilio scores the winning goal in the second half to help eliminate El Salvador. John Catliff scores the opening goal of the match, his round-leading fourth goal in five matches (albeit also the 18th and final goal of his international &ldquo;A&rdquo; career). Mike Sweeney makes his 58th appearance to set a new national record (surpassing the previous record of 57 appearances by Bruce Wilson).</p><p><strong>THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 3 May 1992<br>\u200b</strong>With Pel&eacute; on hand to open the competition, Canada wins 4:2 over Guadeloupe at the 1992 CONCACAF Men&rsquo;s Under-20 Championship at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, BC. Troy Wood (two), Brian Ashton and Neil Thompson score for Canada.</p><p><strong>THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 5 May 1985<br>\u200b</strong>Canada draws 1:1 with Guatemala in a FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match. The match is played in front of 30,000 fans in Ciudad Guatemala.
