THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 26 March 1988
​Canada wins 3:1 over Peru in an away Men’s International Friendly match in Lima. It marks Canada’s first victory against a South American nation in an international “A” match. Lyndon Hooper, Nick De Santis and John Catliff score for Canada while Pat Onstad posts the clean sheet. The match is played in front of 45,000 fans. Said coach Tony Taylor, “I don’t believe this win. I have never seen a Canadian team play this well before.”

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 26 March 2005
​Paul Stalteri becomes the 16th player to make his 50th appearance for Canada. Canada falls 1:4 to Portugal in a Men’s International Friendly match in Barcelos, Portugal.

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 28 March 1984
​Canada wins 1:0 over Haiti in an away Men’s International Friendly match in Port-au-Prince. Ian Bridge scores the lone goal of the match. Coach Tony Waiters gets his first win at the international “A” level.

THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 29 March 2011
​Canada posts a 1:0 win over Belarus in an away Men’s International Friendly match in Antalya, Turkey. André Hainault scores the lone goal while Milan Borjan and Lars Hirschfeld split the goalkeeper duties and maintain a clean sheet.
