Canada falls 1:3 to Argentina in its opening match at Sportcentrum Maaspoort in Netherlands. John Fitzgerald scores Canada&rsquo;s first goal in a FIFA Futsal World Cup.</p><p><strong>THIS DAY IN FOOTBALL: 8 January 1989<br>\u200b</strong>Canada wins 6:2 over Japan in its third and final match at the FIFA Five-a-side World Championship (FIFA Futsal World Cup) in Frieslandhal, NED.
