    "body": "<p>Sporting Montr&eacute;al finished a perfect week in Calgary by capturing the Women&rsquo;s 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship with a 4:0 win over the 2024 winners Saskatoon Green &amp; White. National Team hero Shayla He scored a hat trick, Allana Oriente scored the fourth goal, and goalkeeper Stephanie Nazarov posted the shutout as the Montr&eacute;al futsal club captured their first Canadian title in the women&rsquo;s division.</p><p>Sporting Montr&eacute;al FC is the first futsal club to win the Futsal Canadian Championship in both the women&rsquo;s and men&rsquo;s divisions. They previously won the men&rsquo;s Canadian title in 2017 and 2022.</p><p>Shayla He, a Concacaf champion who represented Canada at last year&#039;s FIFA Futsal World Cup, was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.</p><p>Montr&eacute;al&rsquo;s lineup featured Selena Chhiv, Magali Gagn&eacute;, Shayla He, Lucie Illy, Christy Kellner, Casey Koscher, Elikla Keyah Merlen, Maria Mihoubi, Stephanie Nazarov, Maria Nicoriciu, Allana Oriente, Anna-Bianca Stevens-Cardin, Sara Trandji, and Katerina Vassilounis.</p><p>This year&rsquo;s Futsal Canadian Championship was hosted by the Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary. A proven host city that features world-class facilities and friendly volunteers, the Blue Sky City was again the destination for the best futsal clubs in Canada. With a record 10 provinces and territories represented across the men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s divisions, the 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship featured an enhanced format that included Quarterfinals and Semifinals for the \u200b first time. Matches were broadcast live on FIFA+ including both Canadian Finals on Sunday 12 April. Both Canadian Finals featured a terrific atmosphere with approximately 475 fans in attendance for the men&rsquo;s Final.</p><p>At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic futsal through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship for men and women. The Men&rsquo;s Futsal Canadian Championship was launched in 2015, with the Women&rsquo;s Futsal Canadian Championship introduced in 2023, reflecting the continued growth of the sport nationwide. This past year, Canada qualified for the first edition of the FIFA Futsal Women&rsquo;s World Cup&trade;.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
