Soccer New Brunswick celebrated its 2009 award winners at its Annual General Meeting and Awards Luncheon. Alex Thériault and Dayle Colpitts were the big winners as the male and female Players of the Year.

Other award winners were Volunteer of the Year Robert Morimanno, Coach of the Year Victor Bourque, Manager of the Year Kim Boucher, Referee of the Year Dave MacDonald, and Team of the Year Fundy U12 Premier Boys.

Thériault represented New Brunswick’s U-14 team this year at the BMO National Championships Nutrilite All-Stars in Richmond, BC. At the club level, he played for Codiac SC in the New Brunswick U16 Premier Division. This year, Thériault played fullback with the provincial team and striker with Codiac SC.

Goalkeeper Colpitts earned All-Star Team honours at the 2009 Canada Games Women’s Soccer Tournament in Summerside, PE. After helping New Brunswick finish 9th in the tournament, she went on to receive two call ups to Canada’s national teams, first with the U-20 team in October and then with the full national team in November.
