Schedule for 2013 Cyprus Women’s Cup announced

Canada drawn into group with Switzerland, Finland and the Netherlands.

Tournament organizers have announced the schedule for the 2013 Cyprus Women’s Cup. Matches will run from 4 to 13 March at various locations in Cyprus.

Canada has been drawn into Group A and will open the tournament with a 6 March (14.30 local kick-off) fixture against Switzerland at the GSZ Stadium in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The Canadians will then take on Finland on 8 March (17.30 local kick-off) at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia, Cyprus. Canada will then close out the group stage with a match against the Netherlands back at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia on 11 March (17.30 local kick-off).

The schedule for the ‘Finals Day’ at the competition on 13 March will be determined by group standings following the completion of group play.

Canada won a silver medal at the 2012 edition of the Cyprus Cup, losing out 2:0 to France in last year’s tournament final.

Notes:

  • Canada WNT captain Christine Sinclair will be eligible to return from a four-match suspension on 8 March against Finland.
