Royal-Sélect Beauport win their ninth Québec Cup women’s provincial championship

Royal-Sélect Beauport won the 2022 Québec Cup women’s provincial championship on kicks from the penalty mark after a 0:0 draw with CS Mont-Royal Outremont. The 2022 title was Beauport’s ninth women’s provincial championship victory since 2011.

In the Saturday Final, coach Jérome Maissant featured Meaghane Prevost (goal), Blessing Mayi Kith, Rosalie Daigle, Myriam Gosselin, Mélanie Paré, Aurélie Munger, Emmanuelle Rhéaume, Elizabeth Poulin Lapierre, Mélina Couet, Cynthia Gaspar-Freire and captain Meredith St-Pierre in the starting lineup. Beaport’s alternates were Jeanne Belzile, Mia Larochelle, Mélodie Lavigueur, Alice Noël-Sirois, Mélydia Plante, Marika Pleau and Noémie Shink.

Royal-Sélect Beauport previously won the Québec Cup women’s provincial championship in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. There was no provincial championship in 2020 or 2021 on account of the global pandemic, so Beauport’s 2022 title means they have won nine of the last 10 championships. Beauport were also national champions in 2016 and 2019 as well as national runners up in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

The Saturday 10 September Final was played at the Centre sportif Bois-de-Boulogne in Laval, Québec. The Québec Cup men’s provincial championship will be played on Sunday 11 September at the same venue.
