Roster Released For Egypt Tournament

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s World Cup team head coach Holger Osieck today released the 20-man roster for the upcoming international tournament in Cairo, Egypt involving Canada, Egypt, Korea and Iran.

The squad marks the return of Ante Jazic, who scored for Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Cup on Wednesday. Jazic last played for Canada on May 29, 1999 vs Guatemala and has made two appearances with the World Cup team. Craig Forrest makes his first appearance with the World Cup team since being named the Most Valuable Player at the 2000 Gold Cup in February, 2000. Forrest missed Canada’s World Cup Qualifying campaign after undergoing two hernia operations.

Osieck has also included newcomer Tam Nsaliwa who played a significant part in Canada’s successful qualification for the upcoming FIFA World Youth Championship at the Football Confederation Qualifying Tournament in Victoria, BC with the Men’s Under-20 team.
