President Colin Linford resigns

The Canadian Soccer Association announced today that president Colin Linford has tendered his resignation. Linford was elected president in May 2006. Prior to assuming the Canada Soccer presidency, he was president of the Ontario Soccer Association from 2002-2006.

As per the Canadian Soccer Association’s constitution, in the absence of a president, an interim chairman of the board will be selected in the coming days from the two Canada Soccer vice presidents via a secret vote. A new president will be elected at the next general meeting which is presently scheduled for October 2007.

The Canadian Soccer Association would like to thank Mr. Linford for his efforts and contribution to the development of the game and wish him well in his future endeavors.
