The Prince Edward Island Soccer Association announced its award winners at its annual awards banquet. Paul Craig and Kristina Weatherbie were the big winners as the male and female Senior Players of the Year.



Other award winners were Junior Players of the Year Davor Alisic and Katie O’Brien, Coach of the Year John Diamond, Senior Referee of the Year Enes Alisic, Junior Referee of the Year Cory Deagle, Administrator of the Year Bruce Matheson, Volunteer of the Year John Gallant, and Team of the Year Avondale Islanders.



Craig spent the 2008 season with the Avondale Islanders / Eliot River SC. At the 2008 BMO National Championships Challenge Trophy competition in St. John’s, NL, Craig scored two goals in the bronze-medal victory over Gorge FC of British Columbia.



Weatherbie was the PEISA Senior Female Player of the Year for the second-straight season. Weatherbie helped Cape Breton University finish first in the Atlantic Sport University women’s soccer season. She finished second in league scoring with 8 goals.
