Ottawa Gloucester Celtic won the 2022 Ontario Cup men’s provincial championship with a 3:1 win over 10-men Caledon SC. Joey Kewin, Andrew Bryan and Nevello Yoseke were the goalscorers, with Bryan scoring the game winner on a penalty in the 82nd minute after Dror David was shown a red card. With their Ontario Cup win, Ottawa Gloucester Celtic qualified for Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships in Vaughan.

For the Sunday Final, Ottawa featured Corey Herrington in goal, Julian Piccioli at right back, Milosh Stojanovic and Karl Bicamumpaka at centre back, Adam Davies at left back, and Nevello Yoseke, Kieran Sanders, Bezick Evraire, Joey Kerwin, Cameron Butterfield and Andrew Bryan from the midfield up through to the attack. Coach Matt Williams’ team also featured Julian Dasah, Kelvin Asabre and Jethro Pang as substitutes while Alex De Couvreur, Panagiotis Manginas and Ali Rego were also on the winning side.

It marked the second year in a row that Ottawa Gloucester Celtic won the Ontario Cup and their fourth time since 2013, the year that they also won Canada Soccer’s National Championships Challenge Trophy. Ottawa also finished third at the National Championships in 2016 while the tournament was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the global pandemic.

While Ottawa Gloucester Celtic won the Ontario Cup men’s championship on Sunday 11 September, London Alliance FC Galaxy won the women’s championship on Saturday 10 September. Both matches were played at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario.
