Match officials appointed to the 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship

Futsal Canadian Championship

Canada Soccer has published its list of match officials for the upcoming 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship in Calgary with matches to be played 9-12 April at the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex in Tsuut'ina Nation. The list features 26 referees and assistant referees as well as seven assessors.

This year marks the 10th edition of the Futsal Canadian Championship and it will be the first edition to feature Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals for both the men’s and women’s divisions. The enhanced format offers a full four days of competition with meaningful matches for all participating teams, culminating with the two Canadian Finals on Sunday 12 April. The men’s Final is scheduled to start at 14.15 local (16.15 ET / 13.15 PT) followed by the women’s Final at 16.30 local (18.30 ET / 15.30 PT).

At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic futsal through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship for men and women. Futsal is an exciting and fast-paced sport played indoors on a small court with five players to each side. It features a sport-specific ball that does not bounce the same way as a traditional football bounces on grass or turf and the sport features its own unique Futsal Laws of the Game which differ from traditional football. Each match features two 20-minute halves with the clock stopped each time the match is interrupted as well as rolling substitutions so that players can come in and out of the match.

The 2026 Futsal Canadian Championship will be hosted by Calgary United Soccer Association in partnership with Tourism Calgary. A proven host city that features world-class facilities and friendly volunteers, the Blue Sky City will again be the destination for the best futsal clubs in Canada.

Qualifiers to this year’s Futsal Canadian Championship are already underway with 232 men’s and women’s futsal teams competing in provincial and territorial qualifying league and cup competitions through to the end of March 2026.
