Longueuil, Lakeshore qualify with first-half honours from PLSJQ U-17 divisions

CS Longueuil (girls) and Lakeshore SC (boys) qualified for Canada Soccer's Player-Development Program Championship after they won First Half honours in their respective PLSJQ U-17 divisions. CS Longueuil were unbeaten 7-1-0 in the Girls' U-17 division while Lakeshore SC finished first with a 6-3-1 record in the Boys' U-17 division.

Runners up in the First Half also qualified for Canada Soccer's 2025 PDP U-17 Cup. AS Blainville (girls) were also unbeaten with a 7-1-0 record, but they finished second on goals difference behind CS Longueuil. CS Saint-Laurent (boys) qualified as runners up to Lakeshore SC.

As part of Canada Soccer’s Youth Competitions Network, the PDP Championship features four divisions across the PDP U-17 Cup and PDP U-15 Cup (boys and girls in each age category). With eight teams in each division, the PDP Championship will feature group matches from Wednesday 27 August through Saturday 30 August followed by medal and ranking matches for all 32 teams on Sunday 31 August.

Winners and runners up from the PLSJQ U-15 division will qualify for Canada Soccer's 2025 PDP U-15 Cup by 20 July when the First Half to those divisions wrap up.

Launched in 2024, new Canada Soccer Player-Development Program Championship strengthens the connection between standards-based programs and showcases their quality of play. The 2025 competition will feature clubs from the BC Soccer Premier League, the Alberta Player Development League, the Ontario Player Development League, and the Québec Youth Soccer Premier League (Première Ligue de Soccer Juvénile du Québec).

Canada Soccer’s Player-Development Program features a network of standards-based programs that represent high-level amateur youth soccer in Canada. Participating organisations, both clubs and academies, all meet the requirements for standards-based programming including recognition as an active National Youth Club Licensee.
