The kickoff time for the Canada-Costa Rica semi-final match at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier has been confirmed for this Friday 5 November. Canada and Costa Rica will kickoff in the first match at 17.00 local (19.00 ET / 16.00 PT) while USA and host Mexico will kickoff in the second match at 20.00 local (22.00 ET / 19.00 PT). Both matches will be played at the Estadio Beto Ávila in Cancún, Mexico.



Both Friday winners will not only advance to the championship final on Monday 8 November, but will also qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™. The two teams that lose on Friday night will advance to the match for third place on Monday; the third-place team then advances to a two-leg playoff against Europe’s fifth-best team, Italy.



Canada was a perfect 3-0-0 in the group phase of the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier, winning 1:0 over Trinidad and Tobago, 8:0 over Guyana, and 3:0 over host Mexico. The Canada-Costa Rica match will be broadcast live on CBCSports.ca, bold television and CONCACAF TV.



Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is taking part in the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier from 28 October to 8 November. Canada has qualified for each of the last four FIFA Women’s World Cups and hopes to make it five straight with a qualification to Germany 2011™.
