Buchanan
\u200bhas played in all six UEFA matches this 2019-20 season, including four starts.
\u200bOlympique Lyonnais won back-to-back matches against Ryazan-VDV in the Round of
\u200b32, back-to-back matches against Hjørring in the Round of 16, then beat FC
\u200bBayern in the quarter-finals and Paris St-Germain FC in the semi-finals.

Buchanan faced a familiar foe in Ashley Lawrence of Paris
\u200bSt-Germain FC in the Wednesday semi-final match. The two previously faced each other in European
\u200bcompetition in the 2017 UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Buchanan and
\u200bOlympique Lyonnais defeated VfL Wolfsburg in the 2018 final and then FC
\u200bBarcelona in the 2019 final.

Buchanan was the first Canadian soccer player to win a UEFA
\u200bChampions League final. In 2019-20, Buchanan has already won both the league
\u200band Cup titles in France. Incidentally, Olympique won the league title by two
\u200bpoints ahead of Paris St-Germain and then won the Coupe de France against Paris
\u200bSt-Germain on 9 August. This
