    "body": "<p>Janine Beckie became the first Canadian player to score in<br>\u200bthe Women&rsquo;s FA Cup when Manchester City FC won their second consecutive<br>\u200bdomestic Cup title on 1 November 2020. Beckie, who entered the match as a late<br>\u200bsubstitute in extra time, helped seal the 3:1 victory over Everton at Wembley<br>\u200bStadium.</p><p>Beckie became the second Canadian player to feature in a<br>\u200bWomen&rsquo;s FA Cup Final when she entered the match in the 119thminute.<br>\u200bBeckie, who joined Manchester City FC in August 2018, was also part of the<br>\u200bclub&rsquo;s 2019 FA Cup victory, but did not feature in last year&rsquo;s final. Before<br>\u200bBeckie, Desiree Scott featured in the 2015 FA Women&rsquo;s Cup Final for runners up<br>\u200bNotts County.</p><p>On the Beckie goal, Georgia Stanway provided the assist as<br>\u200bBeckie made her way into the box. Beckie then fired her low, right-footed shot<br>\u200bpast the goalkeeper Sandy MacIver. Stanway had previously scored the game<br>\u200bwinner in the 110thminute while Samantha Mewis scored Manchester<br>\u200bCity&rsquo;s opening goal in the 40thminute. Everton&rsquo;s Val&eacute;rie Gauvin<br>\u200bscored the 1-1 equalizer in the 60thminute.</p><p>Beckie is the second player from Canada Soccer&rsquo;s Women&rsquo;s<br>\u200bNational Team to win a domestic Cup title in Europe this year.
