Inaugural Futsal Canadian Championship to be played this October

Inaugural edition set to be played this 10-11 October 2015 in Montreal, Quebec.

While this year’s pilot edition of the Championship will feature provincial winners from Quebec and Ontario facing off for the title, the aim will be to engage each Provincial/Territorial Member Association and work with them on futsal programing to build a more robust competition in years to come.

“The establishment of this new Futsal Canadian Championship is a great step forward for Canada Soccer in our efforts to grow and govern the game at all levels,” said Canada Soccer President Victor Montagliani. “Working closely with our Member Associations, it will provide another avenue for our beautiful game to reach a greater number of participants and serve as foundation for what could become Canada’s futsal players’ pathway towards representing our country on the international stage.”

The 2015 Futsal Canadian Championship will be held 10-11 October at Centre d’éducation des adultes Outremont, Montreal, QC, and will see Futsal Club Toronto, winner of the Ontario Futsal Cup 2015, face the winner of the Première Ligue de Futsal du Québec, Albiceleste, in a two game series. The winner, on aggregate, will be crowned 2015 Canadian Champion.
Regulations for the Canada Soccer Futsal Canadian Championship, as well as details and results of this year’s edition will be posted to migmultidev-canada-soccer.pantheonsite.io/futsal as they become available.
