Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s World Cup Team head coach Holger Osieck today announced he has called in forward Rob Friend to replace the injured Dwayne de Rosario for Saturday’s friendly against the United States on Saturday, January 18 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale (FOX Sports World Canada).

De Rosario fractured a bone in his right foot during a training session Thursday and will be sidelined for at least four weeks. Friend, who recently signed with Moss of the Norwegian Second Division, becomes the seventh member of the squad making his debut with the World Cup Team in South Florida and is the fifth player to be recalled from the current Olympic and Under-20 team camp in Guadalajara, Mexico.

No less than eight of the 17 active players have yet to receive their first international cap and four are under the age of 20.
