Canadian fullback Frank Yallop was honoured by the Ipswich Town FC Hall of Fame, the English side with which he made more than 400 appearances across 12 seasons from 1983-84 to 1994-95. Already an honoured member of the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame, Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia, and San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame, Yallop was honoured by his former club on Friday 2 December.

Yallop was 19 years old when he made his debut with Ipswich Town FC in the English Football League First Division on 17 March 1984. He notably helped the club win the Second Division title in 1991-92 to earn promotion to the Premier League in 1992-93.

“I am so proud and honoured to be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside great players that have played for the Club,” said Yallop to Ipswich Town FC.

Born in Watford, England, Yallop grew up in New Westminster, British Columbia. He made his international “A” debut on 13 May 1990 and went on to represent Canada in two cycles of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and three editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup. In all, he made 54 international appearances for Canada, including 52 international “A” appearances from 1990 to 1997. He later served as Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Head Coach from 2004 to 2006.
