Four Canada Soccer National List Referees named as candidates for FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023™

Canada Soccer Referees Marie-Soleil Beaudoin, Chantal Boudreau, Myriam Marcotte, and Stéphanie Fortin have been named as candidates to officiate at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia/New Zealand 2023™ scheduled to take place from 10 July – 20 August 2023.

“Canada Soccer continues to provide a world-class pipeline of top-level referees and assistant referees to FIFA for selection at Men’s and Women’s World Cup and youth World Cup and Concacaf qualifying competitions,” said Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer’s General Secretary. “Congratulations to Marie-Soleil, Chantal, Myriam, and Stéphanie on being selected and all the best in preparations over the coming months.”

Beaudoin will be working toward her second FIFA Women’s
World Cup after being appointed to France 2019 along with Boudreau. Beaudoin
was previously a referee at the 2016 and 2018 editions of the FIFA U-17 Women’s
World Cup including being appointed to the Final in 2018. Beaudoin was
appointed to the 2016 Concacaf Under-17 Women’s Championship, as a Referee to
the Pan-Am Games in 2015 along with Boudreau (as an Assistant Referee) and also
to the 2013 Concacaf Under-17 Women’s Championship where she refereed the
Final.

Previously, Boudreau received appointment to two FIFA U-20
Women’s World Cups in France 2018 and Papua New Guinea 2016, the Concacaf Women’s
Championship in 2018 and both the 2018 and 2015 editions of the Concacaf
Under-20 Women’s Championships.

Boudreau and Marcotte were most recently named to the 2020
Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying tournament while Fortin received
appointment to the Central American pre-tournament to Olympic Qualifying.

Canada Soccer Referees Beaudoin and Marcotte have been on
the FIFA List since 2014 and 2019 respectively while Assistant Referees
Boudreau and Fortin have been on the FIFA List since 2015 and 2019 respectively.
