Forge FC win 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship

Forge take Voyageurs Cup to Hamilton for the first time

Forge FC Hamilton have lifted the prized Voyageurs Cup for the first time after they won the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship on penalties away against five-time winners CF Montréal. Goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud saved a penalty in the first half, made two more saves in the penalty shootout, then collected the George Gross Memorial Trophy as the competition's Most Valuable Player.

Now in its 19th season, the TELUS Canadian Championship serves as the nation’s highest domestic knockout tournament featuring clubs from coast to coast competing for the Voyageurs Cup. Winners of the TELUS Canadian Championship qualify for the annual international competition Concacaf Champions Cup on the road to the FIFA Club World Cup.

Forge FC is the first club from the Canadian Premier League (established 2019) to win the TELUS Canadian Championship. Outgoing captain Kyle Bekker, one of the club's original signings, was presented the Voyageurs Cup by Canada Soccer President Peter Augruso at Stade Saputo on Wednesday night. Bekker only recently retired after suffering an injury in the September Semifinals.
