Edmonton BTB SC qualified for the 2027 TELUS Canadian Championship

Edmonton BTB SC have won the Alberta Premier League to qualify for the 2027 TELUS Canadian Championship. BTB (Born To Be) clinched the title on the last day of the season after they finished one point ahead of runners up Calgary Blizzard SC.

Edmonton BTB SC set a league record with 37 points while both BTB and the Blizzard set the league mark with 12 wins each. BTB finished the season with a 12-1-1 record while the Blizzard finished the season with a 12-0-2 record. BTB's only loss of the season was a 4:0 away defeat to the Blizzard on 29 May, but they later won 2:1 over the same Blizzard at Edmonton on 3 July.

Edmonton BTB SC previously finished fourth in the league standings in 2024 and third in the league standings in 2023. At the youth level, their club has won both the Boys' U-15 Cup (2023) and Girls' U-17 Cup (2024) in the last few years. This year, they have qualified for the PDP Championship for the first time (both the Boys' PDP U-15 Cup and Girls' PDP U-17 Cup).

The TELUS Canadian Championship brings together clubs from Major League Soccer, the Canadian Premier League, and Premier Soccer Leagues Canada to determine Canada’s best team in the annual Battle of the North. Winners of the domestic TELUS Canadian Championship qualify for the annual international competition Concacaf Champions Cup on the road to the FIFA Club World Cup.
