CSA Announces Coaching Staff for the 2003 Women’s National Teams

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association has named the coaching staff of the 2003 Women’s National and Development teams.

​Ian Bridge will once again lead the U-18 (players born in 1985) National team as they prepare for the CONCACAF qualifications for the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship in 2004. Bridge, who has been assistant coach of the Women’s World Cup team since 1997, recently assisted Even Pellerud to coach that team as they qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held next September in China. As head coach of the National U-19 team, Bridge led the youth squad to second place this summer at the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship.

​Coaching the U-17 (1986) National Development team in 2003 will be Lewis Page who was assistant coach of the Women’s U-19 team under Bridge. Brian Rosenfeld has been named as Head Coach of the U-16 (1987) National Development team and Jens Kramer will coach the U-15 (1988) National Development team.

​Tracy David, coach of the University of Victoria Vikes in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) play, will continue as an assistant coach with the National U-17 Women’s team.

​Assistant coaches for the U-15 National Women’s Development Teams will be principally chosen from the list of participants who attended the CSA Women’s Coaching Symposium held in conjunction with the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship this past August. Seventeen of the very best “up and coming” female coaches in Canada attended the four day symposium.
