Crooks, Morton named to Canada Soccer Board of Directors
Canada Soccer have confirmed two appointments to the Association’s Board of Directors through vacant positions: Charmaine Crooks (by reappointment) and Bernie Morton.Both have been appointed for three-year terms through 2021.
Five-time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist Charmaine Crooks has been reappointed to the Board for a three-year term. She is recognized for her expertise in strategic consulting, global sports, media and corporate directorships and has experience serving on Board of Directors with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Winter Games. She is also currently a member of the International Olympic Committee Press Commission, and the Organizing Committee for FIFA Competitions.
Bernie Morton, who will also serve for an initial three-year term, is a public and government affairs, and communications executive with over 24 years of executive level private and public sector experience working with all levels of government. He currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Town of Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Bernie has dealt extensively with numerous federal and provincial government-related issues, and has worked with municipalities across Canada assisting with public policy development, governance reform, strategic planning, crisis and media communications, administration and advocacy. He is a Registered Municipal Administrator, and a Notary Public for Saskatchewan. Married to Tricia, they are proud parents of four soccer-loving boys.
