Crépeau and Viens named Soccer Québec’s 2022 International Players of the Year

Maxime Crépeau and Evelyne Viens were named Soccer Québec’s 2022 International Players of the Year during the annual Gala de la Mi-Temps in Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec. The two Canadian footballers were honoured for their remarkable seasons for both club and country.

The annual event honours excellence in the province from players, coaches and referees to volunteers, soccer clubs and regional soccer associations. As part of the event, Soccer Québec also paid tribute to Josée Bélanger, Marie-Eve Nault and Rhian Wilkinson who were all inducted to the Soccer Québec Hall of Fame.

Alongside Crépeau and Viens, Sean Rea was named the Soccer Québec Canadian Player of the Year while Wilfried Nancy was named the Soccer Québec Coach of the Year. Myriam Marcotte was awarded the Sonia Denoncourt Award as the women’s referee of excellence while Oscar Mitchell-Carvalho was awarded the Dino Soupliotis Award as the men’s referee of excellence.

CS St-Lazare-Hudson was named the Club of the Year, ARS Rive-Sud was named the Regional Soccer Association of the Year, and the CAN GATO by ARS Outaouais was named the Event of the Year. In the media category, TVA Sports, Dave Lévesque and Jean-François Téotonio were all recognised for their work.

Along with the big winners, special awards were presented to the 16 different Regional Soccer Associations within the province of Québec: Maryline Bouchard (Abitibi-Témiscamingue); Lesly Phanor (Bourassa); Judith Gagné (Côte-Nord); Michel Jalbert (Est-du-Québec); Josiane Labonté (Estrie); Natalie Jacques (Lac St-Louis); Victoria Lafortune (Lanaudière); Éric Ledoux (Laurentides); Benoit Brabant (Laval); Patrick Maréchal (Mauricie); ARS Outaouais volunteers (Outaouais); Laval Moreau (Québec); Hugo Michel (ARS Richelieu-Yamaska); Vincent Ruberto (Rive-Sud); Grégoire Martin, à titre posthume (Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean); and ARS Sud-Ouest volunteers (Sud-Ouest).
