Competition heating up in Canada Soccer Fans’ Choice Awards voting

As we enter the second and final week of voting for the Canada Soccer Fans’ Choice Awards the competition continues to intensify with close races in both the Male and Female categories.

Fans are encouraged to vote in support of their favourite athletes from the 2011 season for both the Men’s and Women’s National Teams at Facebook.com/CanadaSoccer.

It should come as no surprise that both 2011 BMO Canadian Players of the Year, Dwayne De Rosario and Christine Sinclair, are leading the Fans’ Choice polls after the first week of voting – but the race remains close on both sides.

With only a few votes separating the athletes at the top of the table, every vote from across the country will play an important role in determining Canada’s most popular players in 2011.

Voting at Facebook.com/CanadaSoccer continues until 22 December.
