Cavallini joins Canada in Honduras

Canada calls Cavallini for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Honduras.

Canada has called in Lucas Cavallini for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against Honduras on Tuesday 16 October 2012. Cavallini will join the Canadian team in San Pedro Sula in Honduras on Sunday in advance of the match.

Cavallini will replace Olivier Occean, who will miss the 16 October match with a suspension. Cavallini joins Canada from his club in Nacional in Uruguay.

In the CONCACAF 3rd Round of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers, Canada, Honduras and Panama are in a three-team fight for two spots to the CONCACAF Final Round. On Tuesday 16 October, both Group C matches will kick off at 16.00 ET / 13.00 PT. The Honduras-Canada match will be played at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras (14.00 local) while the Cuba-Panama match will be played at Estadio Pedro Marrero in Ciudad de la Habana, Cuba (16.00 local). The Honduras-Canada match will be broadcast live on Sportsnet One.
