CANWNT set to Compete in FIFA Series 2026™ as part of Global Women’s International Showcase

CANWNT to face top international opposition in Brazil as FIFA Series expands to 48 nations worldwide

Canada Soccer's Women’s National Team (CANWNT) will take part in the FIFA Series 2026™, following FIFA’s confirmation of the full line-up of participating nations, host countries and group compositions for the expanded global initiative. 

The FIFA Series 2026™, set to take place during the international match windows in March and April, will bring together 48 national teams from all six FIFA confederations, representing nearly aquarter of FIFA’s 211 Member Associations. The expanded format includes 12 groups of four teams, featuring both men’s and women’s national teams, with all matches broadcast globally. 

Canada – FIFA Series 2026™ Women’s Group (Brazil, host)

The women’s competition which CANWNT will compete in will be hosted in Brazil. The team will compete alongside hosts Brazil, Korea Republic and Zambia. The group offers CANWNT the opportunity to test itself against a diverse range of international opponents, including one of the world’s top-ranked teams and strong representatives from multiple confederations.

The FIFA Series 2026™ women’s competition will be hosted across three countries (Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire and Thailand), with all six FIFA confederations represented. The initiative is designed to create meaningful international matchups that support competitive development while maintaining balance within the international match calendar. 

Beyond the pitch, the FIFA Series also supports broader football development by giving host and participating Member Associations experience in international event delivery, competition operations and referee development, mirroring the demands of major global tournaments. 

All FIFA Series 2026™ matches will be broadcast worldwide, increasing visibility for the women’s game and providing fans in Canada and around the world with access to international women’s football across multiple regions.
