CANWNT 26-player roster revealed for June camp in Costa Rica

Canada Soccer has announced the 26 players selected to represent Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) during the June FIFA international window, with Canada set to face Costa Rica in an international friendly on Tuesday 9 June at 19:30 local time (21:30 ET / 18:30 PT) at Estadio Rafael “Fello” Meza in Cartago.

Stoney’s 26-player roster sees defender Élisabeth Tsé earn her first senior call-up after progressing through Canada’s youth national team pathway and most recently representing Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™, while midfielder Jordyn Listro returns to the national team environment for the first time since June 2021.

The squad also features several players returning after successful club seasons in Europe. Vanessa Gilleswas part of a historic treble-winning campaign with FC Bayern Munich Women, capturing the Frauen-Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal Frauen, and DFB-Supercup Frauen titles. Ashley Lawrence rejoins the group after lifting the Coupe de France Féminine and Coupe de la Ligue Féminine with OL Lyonnes, while also helping the club reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final. Evelyne Viens arrives after securing a domestic double with AS Roma, winning both the Serie A Femminile title and the Coppa Italia Femminile, while Jade Rose returns following a Women’s Super League title-winning campaign with Manchester City WFC.

Canada, currently ranked ninth in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, holds a perfect all-time record against 42nd-ranked Costa Rica, having won all 18 previous meetings between the two nations. The two sides most recently met in June 2025, when Canada earned a 4:1 victory in the Pride Celebration Match held at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario.

Following two consecutive three-match windows earlier this year, beginning with the SheBelieves Cup in March and continuing with the FIFA Series in Brazil in April, the June window will provide additional time on the training pitch as the team continues building ahead of upcoming competitions, including the 2026 Concacaf W Qualifiers in November, which will serve as qualification for both the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ and the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
