CANWFUTSAL roster unveiled for inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™ 

Canada Soccer has announced the 14 players selected to represent Canada Soccer’s Women’s Futsal National Team (CANWFUTSAL) at the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™, which will take place from 21 November to 7 December in Pasig City, Metropolitan Manila. Canada will compete in Group B alongside Colombia, Thailand, and Spain as the team makes its historic debut on the global stage. 

Canada earned its place at the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™ by winning the first-ever Concacaf W Futsal Championship. Competing in their first international tournament, the team posted four wins in five matches, including a dramatic semifinal victory on penalties against Mexico, before defeating Panama 8-2 in the final to lift the continental title. 

Head Coach Alexandre Da Rocha has named a balanced roster that blends experience and youth. With an average age of 27, the squad features 12 returning players from the team that captured the Concacaf championship earlier this year. Among the returnees are standout performers Léa Palacio-Tellier, who was named Best Goalkeeper, and Esther Brossard, who earned both Top Scorer and Best Player honours after leading Canada’s attack with eight goals during the tournament.

The team will depart for the Philippines on Tuesday, 11 November, where they will complete their final pre-tournament camp ahead of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup. Canada will open its Group B campaign against Colombia at 04:00 ET / 01:00 PT on Saturday, 22 November, before facing Thailand at 05:00 ET / 02:00 PT on Tuesday, 25 November. The group stage will conclude with a marquee matchup against Spain at 07:30 ET / 04:30 PT on Friday, 28 November. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, where matches are single-elimination, culminating in the semi-finals, a third-place playoff, and the final. 

The FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™ will feature 16 nations from six FIFA confederations, marking the first time women’s futsal will be showcased on the global stage.
