CANW20 Squad Named for April Camp in Costa Rica

30 players selected as CANW20 continue preparations for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™

Canada Soccer’s Women’s U-20 National Team (CANW20) will travel to El Coco, Costa Rica for an April camp featuring a pair of international friendly matches against Costa Rica. The matches will serve as key preparation for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™, set to take place from 5 to 27 September 2026.

Head Coach Cindy Tye has selected an extended roster of 30 players for the camp as the program continues to build towards the upcoming global competition, with 14 players returning from the squad that competed at the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship.

“This camp is an important opportunity for us to give exposure to these players and take a closer look at a wider pool of talent within our program. These matches will provide a valuable test for the group, allowing us to evaluate performances in a competitive setting and continue building on the standards we expect. It’s an important step as we continue our preparation for the World Cup.”

-Cindy Tye, Head Coach of Canada Soccer’s Women’s U-20 National Team

As part of the camp, Canada will face Costa Rica in two international friendly matches scheduled for Monday 13 April at 15:00 local (17:00 ET / 14:00 PT) and Thursday 16 April at 15:00 local (17:00 ET / 14:00 PT) at the FCRF-Plycem Sports Complex.

Canada qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™ by winning the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, sealing the title with a 3:2 extra-time victory over Mexico in the Final to capture their third continental championship and first since 2008.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™ will take place from 5 to 27 September 2026, marking the 12th edition of the tournament. The competition will be hosted across four cities: Łódź, Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, and Sosnowiec, and will feature 24 nations from six confederations.
