CANW20 announce 22-player squad for June international camp in Spain

Canada to face England and Japan in Murcia as part of FIFA World Cup preparation

Canada Soccer has named 22 players to represent Canada’s Women’s U-20 National Team (CANW20) for its upcoming international camp, part of the final stage of preparation ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™.

The team will travel to Murcia, Spain from 29 May to 10 June for a pair of international friendly matches against England and Japan. Canada will face England on Wednesday 3 June and Japan on Saturday 6 June at Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia, with both matches scheduled for 18:00 local time (12:00 ET / 9:00 PT).

Cindy Tye’s selected 22-player squad includes seven players born in 2006, nine born in 2007 and six born in 2008. Six players are currently competing in professional club environments, including Olivia Chisholm and Kaylee Hunter with AFC Toronto, Taegan Stewart with Calgary Wild FC and Jeneva Hernandez Gray with Sporting CP. In addition, Chloe Taylor and Bridget Mutipula are both signed to youth permits with Vancouver Rise FC.

“This camp comes at an important moment in our preparation. Facing England now gives us a valuable opportunity to learn ahead of meeting again in the group stage at the World Cup, while Japan will challenge us in a different way. With the tournament just three months away, these experiences are so important as we continue to grow, adapt and prepare for what’s ahead.”

- Cindy Tye, Canada Soccer Women’s U-20 National Team Head Coach

The June camp will mark Canada’s final gathering before the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™, where Canada will compete in Group B alongside Brazil, England and Tanzania. The biennial international competition is set to take place from 5–27 September 2026 across four host cities in Poland: Katowice, Łódź, Sosnowiec and Bielsko-Biała.
