CANW17 roster announced for 2026 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers

Canada set for Concacaf Final Round in Costa Rica with FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026™ qualification on the line

Canada Soccer has announced the 21 players selected to represent Canada’s Women’s Under-17 National Team (CANW17) at the Final Round of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers. The second and final stage of the Confederation’s qualifying competition for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026™ will take place from 17–22 March 2026 at the headquarters of the Costa Rican Football Federation in San Rafael, Alajuela, Costa Rica.

CANW17 will compete in Group A alongside El Salvador, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. Canada will open their tournament against Nicaragua on Tuesday 17 March (17:00 ET / 14:00 PT), face Dominican Republic on Thursday 19 March (12:00 ET / 9:00 PT), and conclude the group stage against El Salvador on Sunday 22 March (14:30 ET / 11:30 PT).

At the conclusion of the Final Round, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026™, set to take place in November 2026.

Canada’s U-17 Women’s National Team roster for the qualifiers features a strong mix of players born in 2009 and 2010. Nineteen players return from the February preparation camp in Spain, where the team gained valuable international experience in two friendlies against Finland, earning a 1-1 draw followed by a 3-1 win. Four players, Mélyna Alexis, Gabriela Istocki, Lacey Kindel, and Reed Tingley, bring the added experience of representing Canada at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™.

Jesse Acteson will lead the team on an interim basis during this camp, while Head Coach and Women’s Youth Excel Program Lead Jen Herst recovers from a medical procedure.

"This age group has made great strides over the past year, and our focus now is on continuing that progress. For this competition, we want to build on that growth both on and off the pitch and compete at a high level. We’re excited to be back with the group, and the goal is clear: win our group and qualify for the World Cup. We’re confident this team has what it takes to get it done."

- Jesse Acteson, Women’s U17 Interim Technical Project Lead
