CANW17 Drawn in Group B of Concacaf Women’s U‑17 Championship Qualifiers

CANW17 will face Puerto Rico, Panama, and Nicaragua in group B. 

Canada Soccer’s Women’s U‑17 National Team (CANW17) has been drawn into Group B alongside Puerto Rico, Panama, and Nicaragua for the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U‑17 Championship, the final stage of the region’s qualifying competition for the FIFA U‑17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025, which is set to take place from 31 March to 6 April 2025.

The Final Round now features 12 teams. Joining the four highest-ranked nations – Canada, Haiti, Mexico, and the United States – are the six group winners from Round One: Puerto Rico, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. In addition, Trinidad & Tobago and Bermuda secured their places as the two best-performing second-place finishers.

In Group B, CANW17 will face Puerto Rico, Panama, and Nicaragua at Estadio Rommen Fernández in Panama. The team’s campaign will kick off with a match against Nicaragua on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, at 17:00 ET / 14:00 PT, followed by a match against Panama on Thursday, 3 April 2025, at 17:00 ET / 14:00 PT, and will conclude group play against Puerto Rico on Sunday, 6 April 2025, at 17:00 ET / 14:00 PT.

At the tournament’s conclusion, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will secure qualification for the FIFA U‑17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025. Now an annual event expanded from 16 to 24 teams, the World Cup is scheduled to take place in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November 2025, bringing together national teams from six confederations.

In preparation for this tournament, CANW17 recently competed in the MIMA Cup in Spain, where the team gained valuable competitive experience, recording a 3-0 victory over Scotland while falling to England (2-0) and Sweden (3-1).
