CANM15, CANM16 to face Chile in Santiago

Canada Soccer's Men's U-15 and U-16 National Teams (CANM15, CANM16) will each play a pair of friendly matches against Chile at the ANFP Federación de Fútbol de Chile facility in Santiago, Chile.

CANM15, under Head Coach David Cerasuolo, will face Chile on Wednesday, 19 August and Saturday, 22 August. CANM16, under Head Coach Adam Miller, will face Chile on Thursday, 20 August and Sunday, 23 August.

This camp represents an important step in the development of both age groups. For the U15 players, it's about creating a positive first experience representing Canada, helping them understand the standards, expectations, and pride that come with wearing the badge. For the U16 players, it's about continuing to raise those standards as we begin building towards the 2027 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers. Facing strong international opposition like Chile will provide valuable experiences for both groups as we continue shaping the next generation of Canadian players.

FIFA announced in January 2025 that the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ will expand to 48 teams and move to an annual cycle from 2025 through 2029. With a World Cup on the calendar every year rather than every two, consistent high-level testing at the U-15 and U-16 levels plays an increasingly important role in preparing players for qualifying for the U-17 World Cup.
