Eight Canadian players have now made their official competitive debut at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Four players on Friday and four more players on Sunday made their debuts in an official FIFA competition this month. On Friday, it was Emily Zurrer, Kaylyn Kyle, Josée Bélanger and Desiree Scott; on Sunday, it was Stephanie Labbé, Chelsea Stewart, Christina Julien and Brooke McCalla.

​All 20 of coach Carolina Morace’s players have seen action in the first two matches of the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Canada won 1:0 over Trinidad and Tobago on Friday 29 October and then 8:0 over Guyana on Sunday 31 October. Canada’s next match in Tuesday 2 November against host Mexico.

​With the debuts, Labbé posted a clean sheet on Sunday against Guyana. Julien, meanwhile, scored her first competitive goal.

​Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is taking part in the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier from 28 October to 8 November. Canada has qualified for each of the last four FIFA Women’s World Cups and hopes to make it five straight with a qualification to Germany 2011.
