    "body": "<p>Canada has one of the world&rsquo;s most successful programs in women&rsquo;s international soccer. Along with finishing sixth at this year&rsquo;s FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada 2015&trade;, Canada recently finished sixth at last year&rsquo;s FIFA U-20 Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada 2014 and eighth at least year&rsquo;s FIFA U-17 Women&rsquo;s World Cup Costa Rica 2014.</p><p>&ldquo;We are very proud of our national team and how they represented our country at the FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada 2015&trade;,&rdquo; said Victor Montagliani, President of Canada Soccer and Chair of the National Organising Committee for the final competition. &ldquo;There was tremendous pressure on them to perform at home. They showed Canadians and the world that they are true role models.&rdquo;</p><p>Along with success on the pitch, Canada enjoyed support in the stands and across the country. Canada&rsquo;s five home matches during the FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada 2015&trade; average 48,380 spectators per match. The Canada quarter-final match on 27 June at BC Place drew 54,027 fans, a new record for a Canadian national team of any sport playing on home soil.</p><p>Canada&rsquo;s national matches were also extremely popular on television, with Bell Media drawing 11.6 million unique viewers for Canada&rsquo;s group stage (with Canada finishing first place for the first time in program history). Bell Media then drew 6.9 million unique Canadian viewers for Canada&rsquo;s Round of 16 match on 21 June and 7.5 million unique Canadian viewers for the quarter-final match on 27 June.</p>",
