Canadian Soccer Association announces recent appointments to Board of Directors

Brian Burden, a former senior corporate executive with a strong experience in finance, strategy, corporate development and risk management, served a one-year term already and has been reappointed for a three-year term.

Five-time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist Charmaine Crooks has been appointed to the Board on a two-year term. She is recognized for her expertise in strategic consulting, global sports, media and corporate directorships and has experience serving on Board of Directors with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Winter Games. She is also currently a member of the International Olympic Committee Press Commission.

Robert Richardson is President of the Devon Group and has a career in public affairs that spans 25 years. He has also been active in attracting international multi-sport games to Toronto, notably serving as one of the leaders of Toronto’s successful bid for the 2015 Pan American Games. Richardson has been appointed to the Board of Directors for a one-year term.

Amelia Salehabadi-Fouques has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board. She has worldwide, hands-on expertise in international commercial law and sport law, as well a solid experience as a board member for various national and international organisations. Salehabadi-Fouques, named on the Who’s Who Canada list in 2003, also teaches sport law at University of Montreal and is a soon-to-be published author of a sport law in Quebec book.
