Canadian quartet to officiate Final Match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014

Canadian referees Carol Anne Chénard, Marie-Josée Charbonneau, Suzanne Morisset and Michelle Pye will officiate the Final Match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014. The Sunday 24 August Final Match will feature Germany and Nigeria at Stade Olympique in Montréal.

For referee Chénard, this will mark the second time she has officiated the Final Match at a FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She was previously appointed the referee for the Final Match at Germany 2010, a final that also featured Germany and Nigeria.

Referee Chénard has been on the FIFA List of Referees and Assistant Referees since 2006. Assistant referee Charbonneau has been on the FIFA List since 2012 while assistant referee Morisset has been on the FIFA List since 2008. Fourth Official Michelle Pye has been on the FIFA List since 2007.

The biennial FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 runs 5-24 August in four Canadian host cities: Edmonton, Alberta; Toronto, Ontario; Montréal, Québec; and Moncton, New Brunswick.

The Final Match kicks off at 19.00 local, with tickets available at FIFA.com/Canada2014 or on site at the local box office. Also on 24 August, the match for 3rd place kicks off at 16.00.
