Canada’s match with Honduras kicks off the semifinal round of CONCACAF qualifying for 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA™, which determines the teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean that will earn the right to compete for World Cup glory. Canada has been drawn into Group A alongside El Salvador, Honduras, and Mexico. The top two teams will move on to the final qualifying round, a round-robin format known as the Hex, beginning in November 2016.
