Canada has announced its roster for the upcoming Women’s International Friendly match in Moncton, NB, a match that not only celebrates Canada’s Centennial year, but also serves as an Olympic send off for the national team. The Canadian team will face China PR this coming Wednesday 30 May 2012 at Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium. The match kicks off at 20.00 local.

Canadian coach John Herdman has selected 22 players for the trip, including both players from the recent residency camp in Vancouver as well as players arriving from their clubs in Sweden.

The event on 30 May will be the first Canadian match staged at Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium. The match will also allow the Canadian Soccer Association to share its 100th anniversary with the soccer community in Atlantic Canada. Canada will participate in the London 2012 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament from 25 July to 9 August. This will mark Canada’s second participation in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament, following a quarter-final finish at Beijing 2008. In advance of London 2012, Canada will face China PR in a home Women’s International Friendly match on 30 May (Moncon, NB, Canada) and then USA in an away Women’s International Friendly match on 30 June (Sandy, UT, USA).
