Canada trained today in Gros Islet, St. Lucia in advance of its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match on Friday 7 October. The team had a full hour on the cricket-turned-football grounds at Beausejour Stadium. Canada will meet St. Lucia for an 18.00 local kickoff on Match Day Three for CONCACAF Stage II of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Brazil.

“The conditions at training were quite nice, there was a nice breeze blowing,” said coach Stephen Hart. “The grass itself is a bit long, but it is smooth. There is a cricket pitch in the middle which is basically concrete, but other than that, it is fine.”
Several thousand fans are expected for the Friday night match at Beausejour Stadium, but not a full crowd for the 13,000-seat stadium.
Canada’s roster features 18 players. Beyond Friday, the full team travels home to Toronto to prepare for Match Day 4 against Puerto Rico on Tuesday 11 October. Fans are encouraged to watch Canada at BMO Field with tickets available via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.ca or 1-855-985-5000.
Only one team will advance from this four-team group in CONCACAF Stage II. Canada is the group leader with six points following victories against St. Lucia and Puerto Rico in early September. Canada will also face St. Kitts and Nevis in back-to-back matches in November.
