Both Canada and the United States won their respective groups in the 2008 competition. Canada won 2:1 over Russia and 3:0 over Japan last week.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bWhile Canada and the United States&rsquo; U-20 team will fight for first place in the competition, Nederland and Japan will play for third place and Scotland and Russia will play for fifth place.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bCanada&rsquo;s women&rsquo;s national team took 24 players to Europe for five preparatory matches. They have already played Russia on 5 March, Japan on 7 March and Scotland today on 10 March (an 0:2 loss in a friendly outside of the competition). After the 12 March final in the Cyprus Cup, Canada will fly to Paris where they will play France in a friendly on 14 March.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bCanada is currently preparing for the CONCACAF Women&rsquo;s Olympic Qualification Tournament which runs 2-12 April in Mexico. Canada needs to finish amongst the top-two teams in the six-team tournament to win a berth in the Women&rsquo;s Olympic Tournament Beijing 2008.<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200b<br>\u200bIn Mexico, Canada is hoping to draw inspiration from letters and photos featuring the &ldquo;We Believe&rdquo; theme.
